Evening All,

Here in NZ were commonly running 20" 7saums @2950-3000fps with the 160 class bullets 162 Eldx/m and the 168 Berger VLD . really handy size well suited to the environment down here . A Pal was achieving 2825fps with an 18" bbl with the 168 vld and Superperformance

20" PRC has really taken off pushing the 147 and 143 eld around 2900 to 3000fps.

it got to popular to fast and theirs no powder or hornady 6.5 promos their fetching $300 per box on trading sites here.

my preference is the saum for raw hitting power

That seems really fast based off my experience. What powder are you using in the 20” barrels?

I've wondered if superformance would work well in the 7SAUM. I don't see much in the way of load data for it and I've had finicky luck getting superformance to shoot well.
I've heard of great velocity out if Sherman's (based off saum) with superformance. Same with h100v. But I've also heard both are very temp sensitive. Work up slowly and record data.

Rl26 is what you want in the saum/wsm cases if speed matters.
I recently tested a load with it in my 6.5 saum that I developed in 50 degree weather, at 93 degrees it was 5 fps faster!

RL26 and SuperPerformance Reloader being more temp stable .

This is a Buddys that has since speed up to 2975 with the 168 Berger RL26 combo

And this is a couple other threads on our short barrelled SAUMS and PRC

The PRC has proven very popular here and has being the death of reloading components for 6.5mm iv since sold my .260rem and boxes of 143 ELDX are fetching $300NZD a box from some greedy buggers.

I was at the same junction a while back, 7saum or 6.5 prc. I decided to build a 6.5prc due to lapua brass availability. Currently running the 156 bergers and they are lethal. I've also used factory 143 eldx and didn't have any issues with it either. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
