6.5 PRC go to powder

Good to know. With the 4831sc being faster burning than H1000, does that equate to faster velocity or just hits high pressure faster with less powder?
I found the H4831 to be slower if loading according to book, but your also using less powder. I imagine that if you loaded 54.5grs side by side, H4831 would likely produce higher velocity.

In my 6.5prc with a 20" barrel, im getting 2768 w/ 54.5grs of H4831sc. Although 54.0grs gave me a. 2" group, at 54.5 im still at .5".

Still playing with it and still breaking in virgin brass.

That’s stacking them in there! What’s your rifle build for that?

This is what I came up with.
Tikka sporter barrel, 20”, no suppressor yet!

My chrono didn’t work on the 59 gr load, but I’m sure it’s close to 2900 fps.

I am shooting berger VLDs with RL23, which is in stock lately, and getting 3100FPS. Just started working on a load with the 156 bergers and using N565 and finding good results around 2880FPS.

H1000 is one of the best from what I read when I got my PRC.
I couldn't get any so I got N565 sitting on the bench for it.
Same-same. I ended up loading 57 for both of them just to keep it easy to remember. Not buying any more 565 powder tho.

135 Bergers H-4350 20" barrel 3000 fps. Anything slower you just as well use a CR. I had good hunting results with the 135. Seen some bad results from the 143. Short barrel you want a faster burning powder.

Put the suppressor on my rifle, loaded up 58 gr of H1000 and shot a group! Pretty good, I think this is the load I will stick with Average velocity is 2825 fps.
(The picture shows 50 yard group, I messed that up it was 100 yard)

Anyone using RL 26 with good results? i know of one rokslider reporting good results with RL26.
I just started load work up in tikka chopped to 22” and throated for 147s. At 58.5gr of RL26 I have 2950fps avg and sub 1/2 moa. I only loaded 5 at the time so I need to get back out and shoot again with this combo. I did get over 3000fps and almost as good of group with either 59 or 59.5gr I had stopped there and hadn’t hit pressure yet. Gonna find pressure next range session.

My Seekins has a 24" barrel and I was running 59g of n565 at 2980fps with 140TGK.

I never hit pressure with these loads in 100 degree weather or 25 degree weather so I had more room to go up and break 3k. But when it consistently shot .5-.6 groups, I didn't bother chasing any more speed.
