6.5 PRC barrel length 20 vs 24 inch

Buying a Seekins PH3 in 6.5 PRC.

What is everyone seeing in FPS in a 6.5 PRC 20 inch VS 24. I am not seeing a big enough advantage with 147s in 20 inch figures to justify a 6.5 PRC short barrel if I have a Long barreled creed.

I would like someone with real world figures on the shorter 6.5 PRCs to shoot me some Chronograph readings if they would please

I am getting 2790 with hand loads shooting 144eldx out of an 18” barrel, way under pressure. Go with 20”, you can easily get 2900 with the right load.

I’m getting 2924fps with a 156 Berger, ADG brass and a fed210m in a 24” proof 1:7.5.

New Tikka barrel, cut to 20", my best 3 data points:

Max pressure handloads with 153 gr TMK: 2750 fps (I'd need to back-off a little).
Factory Federal 140 gr Tipped Fusion: 2840 fps
Factory Winchester 142 gr Nosler ABLR: 2885 fps

I plan to handload 143 gr ELD-X and finish the 153 gr TMK load next winter/spring. I'll need to get near 2900 to beat those factory offerings. I think it will. This season I plan to compare terminal performance between the two factory loads listed above. I'm super interested in the 142 ABLR, that Winchester load seems great.

I believe my barrel is considered average to slow for 6.5 PRC. Accurate though.
