They’re all good bullets, I’ve taken 3 with the 143 ELDX and had no problems just have good shot placement and you’ll be fine

IF your NF F1 SHV is in MRAD, use whichever bullet/load best lines up with these elevation adjustments: {1 mil for 300yds, 2 mil for 400 yards, 3 mil for 500 yards, etc} for the atmospheric conditions you plan to hunt in (altitude, temp, etc). One of those probably lines up very close out to 600 yards or so. Dial to .7 mil for maximum point blank range from 0-270.

I’ve used them all, 139 Scenar, 130 TMK, 140 and 147 ELD-m, 143 ELDx, on elk and deer; I load everything with 130 TMK now, as I can push them a bit faster and they hammer the shiz out of stuff.

The 6.5s have gotten real popular with clients over the years with the 143eldx being the most popular bullet we see as it is easy to find in box ammo and they preform excellent on elk keep distance reasonable impact velocity around 1800fps for your round and make good choices on shot angles this should apply to all calibers also, the 147 eldm and the 156 bergers are my favorite if you can find them in stock

Are you handy with said rifle? If so, any you listed will get the job done with good shot placement. I’ll throw in the 124 grn Hammer Hunter.

Not the same bullet, but the 130 Tipped Game King is the one and only bullet I could not get to shoot in multiple 6.5CMs. I have some 143s, 140 Partitions, 147s, 139s, and 140 VLDs to choose between for elk and deer.

I’m a big sierra fan and I too was disappointed with the 165 TGK in .30 cal. I couldn’t get any decent group in a couple of different rifles.

Might want to look at the 130 gr. TSX.

Works very well in the 6.5x55mm Mauser at ~ 2800 fps.

This is really disappointing…I have 1,000 of these…

Resurfacing this thread. Looking to get my 6.5 CM set up for elk this fall. Have read the small caliber threads and listened to Form on the exo podcast too.

If I’m starting out fresh, making a switch from mono to fragmenting bullet, and I don’t currently reload; is the 147 Eldm the one to go/start with?

Assume they all would shoot accurately in my rifle…

Any reason to try and get a custom ammo loader to go with the 130 TMK over the factory Eldm options?

Likely splitting hairs, but wanted to ask the group.

I spent the summer trying to sort this out and I guess I'm spoiled for choice.

127 lrx
130 tmk
139 scenar
143 eldx
147 eldm

All shoot well and were all suggested in this thread.

Using a tx3 with vertical grip, UM mounts and a NF SHV.

I will either put one each in a hat and let my wife pick or I will go tmk for the rokslide vibe.

140eldm 143eldx 147eldm should all have very similar performance. Let accuracy, cost, and availability determine what you go with.
