Grabbed some Berger elite hunter 140s and trying to decide on powders and brass. I have about 150 Nosler brass and 150 hsm brass. So I’m not sure which to use or can I use both with no issues? I’d like to get around 2800fps out of my 24” barrel. Any suggestions?

brass probably doesn't matter - RL-15 has been steadfast for me and I've tried most others without anything that RL-15 doesn't do just as well ….

I'm wanting to reload my Berger's but not sure where to start? For my 6.5. What's a good place to start.

Run RL26. Your load may vary but we've run them up to almost max case capacity with no pressure signs. You'll get accuracy and the speed. Barrel dependent of course.

You might as well tell him to run Unicorn Blood. RL-26 is sold out everywhere with not stock in sight. When it did come in stock a few months ago, Powder Ally sold out just in backorders.

OP,

Run H4350. It's less temp sensitive than most powders. It will meter great and you will be in the ballpark of where you want to be speed wise.

You won't get to 2800 with H4350 in my experience (unless you have a fast barrel or are willing to really push on them), but probably can with RL16. H4350 gives lower velocity out of the two by about 50fps in my experience. Both will provide great accuracy and temp stability.

RL-26 seems to be all the rage in the creedmoor right now, but I can't find any. I've also heard it gets wacky when temps are above 80.

Unicorn blood is what H4350 was two years ago.

I'm getting 2780 in a 24 in barrel with 140 eldms and 4350 but that's me. It's not 2800 or better.

I don’t necessarily have to be over 2800. Just like to be in the ballpark without pushing 100% capacity. I picked up a pound of the h4350 to give a try with the Berger 140 elite hunters.

I’m happy with RL16 with 140 VLD hunters. There was a node a little higher up, but this one was wider.

I disagree, in a 24" barrel with elite hunters he should be close. He's going to have more room for powder with how long that bullet likes to be seated.

What’s everyone running on neck tension? I have factory Nosler brass and not sure what size bushing to get

Seat a bullet and then measure outside of neck with a caliper, subtract .002" from that measurement and order that size bushing.

.002" to .003" for a hunting round. You'll be in the .288" to .291" bushing size range most likely. My Starline and Peterson brass both have .014" necks. .014"+.014"+.264"-.002"=.290" bushing

I am also using a .290" on my 6.5
