I hunting in East texas shooting whitetail and pigs mainly. Longest shot on a whitetail is probably like 350yds max. The furthest I’ve actually shot was like 206.

We do have a range that goes out to a mile but that is just for fun I’m not going to be competing.

I’m thinking I’m settled on a 6.5 CM shooting 130-140gr projectiles. Out of a 20” barrel with a can.

I do want to try the Berger 156s just because most of the shots are within 400yd. I don’t really elk hunt but if I did, I’d want to do it with my bow 😂

20" with a can is still going to feel long, especially in East TX brush. I'd go 16"

I have a 20” Tikka CTR in 6.5 CM and you sir posses a unicorn. I’d be even more impressed to see that brass in person. I get about 2680 FPS with 130 grain Berger OTM. I also don’t push the brass too hard.
It's possible, and he's not even that crazy over pressure. Probably 67kpsi or so.
It's a spicy load for sure and no factory ammo can match it, but certainly possible to do.
