6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

The latest 143 ELDX results. 2600 fps impact on a cow elk, recovered in the offside hide. She ran 25 yards after the shot and piled up. Same results on everything up to moose.

ETA - second picture includes a 143 ELDX recovered in the offside hide of a bull elk, 2950 fps impact. Third picture is both recovered bullets together. Moose bullet was not recovered, 2500 fps impact with a complete pass thru. Lowest impact velocity I have seen the ELDX down to is 2100, same results.

Bone Frog has the Federal Tactical 140g TMKs in stock
Thanks for this, got some en route. Have only shoot ~100 rounds of 147 ELDM on my chopped 18" Tikka with can, and been wanting to find a good source for factory TMK load. Averaged 2497fps previously which is 1803fps @ 600yds, so looking for a little more padding to be comfortable with this as my <= 600yd gun. Next...more practice so I the shooter am worthy.

Another day, another elk. 306 yds (2600 fps impact), 143 ELDX. Double lung first shot, second shot shooter forgot the wind hold and got front of stomach & liver. Elk walked 20 yds downhill and dropped. Neither bullet recovered.

Anyone using the 6.5cm Norma 140 Whitetail? Found a pretty good deal on them but have no experience with them at all.
I've used Norma Whitetail in all my guns and I love it. Zero issues. And it's Norma brass, which is great for reloading. To @Castle Rock 's point, the BC isn't great, and I've found the tips like to deform fairly easily, but it hasn't caused me any issues out to 400

Not to derail a very informative thread, but I didn’t see anyone posting anything about using a .264WM and 130 TMKs or for that matter any combination and the old 264WM

If anyone has used the 130 TMK would they please be willing to share their opinion and recipe!
I would think 130 TMKs would be violently expansive at 264WM velocities.

Posted one of these before but all my posts got deleted.

Figured it was time to contribute. Tikka T3x.

Montana whitetail. Biggest body whitetail I’ve ever put my hands on. Factory 120 CX at 29 yards. Last time I’ll use copper.
IMG_2990.jpeg
Montana mule deer. 176 yards. Factory 143 eldx.
IMG_7544.jpeg
Front should removed. First shot was on the left. Dropped then started to get back up. Second on the right finished it.

Dad’s Wyoming antelope. 317 yards. Factory 143 eldx. DRTIMG_4122.jpeg
Wyoming antelope. 212 yards. Same load. Quartering away. DRT
IMG_2026.jpeg
Recovered from just under skin on opposite shoulder
IMG_4139.jpeg
Top 3 were shot with factory 143eldx out of 18” Barrett fieldcraft. 30-50 yards. 2 headshots DRT. One quartering, ran 40 yards.

Same fieldcraft and load. Frontal at 80 yards. DRT

Few more all with tikka 6.5cm cut to 18” and suppressed.
Montana black bear. 100ish yards. Factory 143eldx. Hit a little far back and had to put a finisher in him.
IMG_5682.jpeg
Montana antelope. Factory 140eldm. 440 yards. First shot was the top circle. Hit spine and he was still trying to get up. Weird angle for a finishing shot, but all I had. IMG_6730.jpeg
Montana bull. 218 yards. 140eldm. Nerves got to me on this one. Not my best shooting. Hard quartering away and tucked 3 in him a little far back. He turned broadside and one more put him down.
IMG_1559.jpeg
Final shot hit the x and shattered that bone
IMG_6966.jpeg
Montana whitetail. 80ish yards 140eldm. Quartering to. Took a step as I shot and hit back at the left circle. Went 20
Yards and laid down. Second one in the neck.IMG_7081.jpeg
Montana prairie dog. 147eldm. Too much meat damage for me.IMG_5358.jpeg
I’ve seen a lot more animals that weren’t mine hit the dirt with 6.5cm, lapua, and prc.
Recently got back into reloading and pick up some 130 tmks. Looking forward to trying them out.

Thanks for sharing these! That DRT 6.5 bullet is a nasty little thing. We are trying to compile as much as we can from DRT on this thread as well if you want to add there. Thanks!
