6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

The latest 143 ELDX results. 2600 fps impact on a cow elk, recovered in the offside hide. She ran 25 yards after the shot and piled up. Same results on everything up to moose.

ETA - second picture includes a 143 ELDX recovered in the offside hide of a bull elk, 2950 fps impact. Third picture is both recovered bullets together. Moose bullet was not recovered, 2500 fps impact with a complete pass thru. Lowest impact velocity I have seen the ELDX down to is 2100, same results.

Bone Frog has the Federal Tactical 140g TMKs in stock
Thanks for this, got some en route. Have only shoot ~100 rounds of 147 ELDM on my chopped 18" Tikka with can, and been wanting to find a good source for factory TMK load. Averaged 2497fps previously which is 1803fps @ 600yds, so looking for a little more padding to be comfortable with this as my <= 600yd gun. Next...more practice so I the shooter am worthy.

Another day, another elk. 306 yds (2600 fps impact), 143 ELDX. Double lung first shot, second shot shooter forgot the wind hold and got front of stomach & liver. Elk walked 20 yds downhill and dropped. Neither bullet recovered.

Anyone using the 6.5cm Norma 140 Whitetail? Found a pretty good deal on them but have no experience with them at all.

I've used Norma Whitetail in all my guns and I love it. Zero issues. And it's Norma brass, which is great for reloading. To @Castle Rock 's point, the BC isn't great, and I've found the tips like to deform fairly easily, but it hasn't caused me any issues out to 400

Not to derail a very informative thread, but I didn’t see anyone posting anything about using a .264WM and 130 TMKs or for that matter any combination and the old 264WM

If anyone has used the 130 TMK would they please be willing to share their opinion and recipe!
I would think 130 TMKs would be violently expansive at 264WM velocities.

Posted one of these before but all my posts got deleted.

1. Medium black bear, thin subcutaneous fat

2450fps broadside impact through ribcage
~4 inch wide max wound channel and exit
Tungsten powder visible on offside ribs and shoulder

Bear writhed and bit at the entry wound, then got up and ran ~60 yards downhill before dying.
