Tikka T3X with whatever contour 7 PRC shouldered pre-fit of your choice.

If you want a more custom built based off 700 footprint then the Proof Research Elevation MTR 2.0 can be had for around $3,000 which leaves you with 2,000 for scope & mount. Seen several of this exact proof shoot very nice.

Id go with a Tikka though and spend the rest on a great optic. Many times my scope costs more than I have in a rifle. If you’ve never used top quality scopes (today referred to as Alpha glass) then don’t ever start down that rabbit hole. Anyway, i don’t mind haveing a good shooting mid priced rifle but a top notch scopes. Makes more sense than cheating out on a scope because of the desire of an expensive rifle that a T3X will likely outshoot.

Finding a used Derby 28 ga sidelock would be my choice. You could probably find both a 28 and 410 for 5K. The only downside is most of them have 26” barrels.

If I was going to spend 5k right now, I’d just order one of the new MRC/UM Marshall is rifles.
6.5prc if you want something faster than your CM.
Get a maven rs1.2 or a 2.5-15 Triji credo
