Looking for recommendations on a scope for a 400 Legend? (Live in a slug area that just allowed straight wall cartridges. )
I shoot hold overs and FFP scopes for all my hunting rifles. I like the simplicity, and don't like dialing, even tho I have several zero stops. I shoot MOA (Minute of Animal), but seriously do prefer MOA instead of MILs.
Can't decide if I want to go back to a SFP scope or stay with a FFP. I know there's some scopes specific for straight wall cartridges, all SFP and was thinking about a 3-9x or a 2-10x.
I have the ability to shoot close in brush but also over look crop fields so I can take longer shots. My last 10pt was shot at 11 yds right behind my stand, but also took a buck 3 years ago at 152yds.
It will go on a Ruger American Gen2, so not necessarily looking at Nightforce, high end Leupy, or Trijicons. Thinking mid-teir between $200-$450.
Looking at Athalon Helos 2-10x FFP, or the Hawke Straight wall 3-9x SFP or even just a simple Vortext Crossfire II. Can't decide.
