as the title says, any 3piece takedown recurve recommendations? not a newbie to archery, but it has been a while and looking to get back in the swing of things.
specs: drawlength 31.5 desired draw weight in the 40-45lbs range at full draw. shorter limbs best with out stacking so probly 60 to 65 or so. wanting a fast quiet and smooth shooter
thanks

How do you feel about metal risers and ILF? Samick discovery riser, some $100 WNS limbs, and a couple cans of spray paint can go a long way if you're on a tight budget. On the other end you can go with a WF-19 riser and some Uukhas and have an insanely smooth and fast bow.

That is if you're okay with your bow not having a soul

Black Widow PMA is my poison of choice. I draw 32" and shoot a 43@32" 64" PMAX with a Cooling grip. I'm hard pressed to outshoot the bow. If I did it again I might get the carbon limbs instead and a Snyder or Jenkins grip, but that's all I'd change.

Morrison Phoenix 19 with black max limbs is a set up I have. Kinda my core bow , easy to shoot. Easy to swap grips , or limbs or whatever.
ILF limb systems simply pull apart without tools.
That samick discovery is similar for less money also. Can use any ILF limbs and play around.
I want to try some of those hot rod uuka limbs sometime. Or the backwoods composites.

If you want a wood one, browse the site of rocky mountain specialty gear. They have an awesome selection of used bows.

As a "newbie" I'd start with an ilf rig and be willing to file and bondo to get the grip you want. Swap limbs around to get the rest dialed in.

Once you get that done....you will be ready to write the check for exactly what you want.

Grip, center/shelf and limb design are pretty much the variables....the rest is lipstick on a pig.
