Recently inherited a beautiful rem700 in 375h&h. Looking for bullet suggestions. Cutting edge 250gr maximus is one in considering.

Any bullet experiences or pet loads?

My 375 H&H likes the Speer 235gr hotcore. I normally shoot 300gr partition, but the gun shoots the Speers into little groups.

Range is gonna be important here. Based on velocities you get at different ranges your bullet may not perform adequately. Check the bullet profile and compare the expansion properties at different velocities and choose that way.

I kilked a couple using the 260 ab and a 300 partition. Both died quick and with minimal meat damage. I can't comment on the bullet upset or weight retention as they passed through.

The 260 is pretty much the same trajectory as a 308 or 200 in a 30-06.

My 375 preferred the 300 Sierra. I never got to shoot anything with it. A buddy used them on some moose and caribou with good results. I’m sure they’d work well on elk.

My .375 really likes Barnes 270 gr. Not tipped but the original X bullet. H414 is my powder. I've tried many other projectiles including Accubond and TSX. Shooting 235's kind of defeats the purpose of shooting a big bore, I think.
