I went down the Ruger path on three different 375. African model. Alaskan model. And a savage 375. It did make me fall in love with the 375 Ruger over the h&h.

That said, I put some in upgraded stocks. I cerakoted. I just never fell in love with them. They are perfectly functional rifles, and kind of CRF. But if you have the means I would look are other options.

A Pre-64 M70 in .375 H&H is the closest thing to a DG ready rifle that's ever been made in the USA. The trick is finding one that has't be F'd with by gunsmif hands that don't know that they don't know... Those made from just after WWII through the mid 50's are the sweet spot for quality and function, having the type 3 safety, and being D&T from the factory so you don't need to worry about a receiver being turned into Swiss cheese and or misaligned rear screw holes.
