350 and 400 legend 10.5” barrel (savage 110 pcs)

I used the 205g maker 350l subs in a 360 bh pistol this year. Yes they are .355, but worked great. Double lung, went 10 yards, huge blood trail. For a 100 yards and in option for 350L it would be a great choice. Also super quiet with a can.

This really shows why energy is mostly irrelevant, muzzle energy with this round is barely over 500 ftlbs at 1080. Yet it was very effective. While the shot was at close range, 20 yards, subs slow down, slowly and it would have worked just as well at 100 yards.

Unfortunately no dice, extra bummer cuz it was my wife’s first deer hunt. We still had a ton of fun.

In response to your other post the ballistics say the bear creek out of my 110pcs should be good to 150 yards or so. Carrying 800ft/lbs and 1600 ft/second. They say it will open consistently down to 1400 which would mean 200 yards but only 600ft/lbs which I don’t like. I figure it’s a solid 150 and in rifle. My other rifles fill in the rest. Next year we are gonna hunt a more open area so I’ll likely bring the 280ai and then the 350 as a backup if we end up in a tighter spot.

I appreciate that. Despite the lack of deer she’s totally hooked. Wants to get into bow hunting too for next year. So I’m optimistic that we will get her on game. She also wants to do the pa rifle season next year as well. So in the end it was a success - she had buck fever bad
