And yet if you call the old farts with their heads so far up their rear ends "asshats" or "40 watt club members" or "404s", their Depends get soiled and you run the risk of being placed in time out.

And that exception barrel life is a great bonus as well.
Yep I’m in Tennessee. It's a super popular deer caliber in Georgia.
.308 & 270 aren’t going anywhere, here to stay
I was thinking about buying a 6.5prc and got to compairing the numbers and factory ammunition and bought the 270
As a lover of 223, can you blow though an elk shoulder joint at 300 yards with a 223 though?223 has all of the same benefits of the 308 with much less recoil. I know some of you live in states that restrict it as a big game hunting caliber, which is dumb, but I understand the need for something commonly available. I did build a 308 gasser though due to the ammunition availability of the past few years.
I also have a 6mm ARC gasser and I can say if ammunition prices are ever finally down to the 308 levels my 308 won't be used at all due to how awesome the 6mm ARC is.
A fast twist 308 for subs and ultra long heavies would be a neat project.
