I've got a Mauser M18 in 308 with a 22" barrel that I use for both hunting and long range practice/fun. I had to get the barrel threaded, but they might have one out now that comes threaded. It's a bare bones, plain Jane gun but it's an absolute tack driver. And wasn't expensive. I don't own one, but have shot and really like the Begaras that others have mentioned. Especially the b14 hunter. If you're already leaning towards the Christensen Arms I don't think you'll mess up going that route. Yeah they are kind of expensive, but they're really nice and you won't have any buyers remorse if you save up and get one. I've shot the ridgeline in 300 prc and the traverse in 6.5 creed and fell in love. Wish I would have bought one of those instead
