Just curious about how affective the federal fusions 165 grain for 308 would be for mule deer and bear out to 400ish yards in idaho? I bought a bunch on sale at Walmart all with the same lot earlier this year. Im trying to save money where I can, but just curious if im making a mistake.

I disagree. They are no good. I'll be glad to take them off your hands for what you paid, just to help ya out, lol.

Seriously though, pacoalcracker and Taudisio are spot on, as Federal Fusion ammo is extremely underrated. It may be the best bang for the buck in the ammo world. I have used it extensively in 7mm-08 with great success on large bodied deer. Great accuracy and terminal performance.

Hunt with confidence.

They are always accurate and they work. Primarily see less internal damage and always seem to be a runner of some sort. As compared to eldm where almost everything drt’s with the odd short runner, flip that for fusions. And beyond 300 they really don’t seem to do much internal. They are hard to ignore due to how well they group but you’ll be tracking. So if you can find a eldm type that shoots well enough you should consider if drt is what you’d rather see most. I’ve seen this consistently over a long time from both. And yes they are bang for buck awesome regarding accuracy and if you prefer a more controlled expansion type terminal performance.
