Ok you .308 guys. What’s the modern .308 barrel? What’s working for you guys? 5R or 6 Groove, 1:6 or another twist rate, 20” Sendero or another taper?
Ok yea, standard would be 1:12 I think. Shopping prefits and wondering what you guys are having luck with. .308 would be new to me but some of you guys have had .308 for lots and lots of years. I know what I want but wanted to hear about experienceDifferent barrel makers different riflings
1-10 twist for me

an old Remington 722 I have rechambered to .308 from.300 savage has a 1-10 twist and it shot Sierra PH 125’s extremely well.
I like and prefer the accuracy benefits of a bigger taper.Bartlein 10 twist #3 contour. 2b if you want to keep it light, but doesnt sound like it since you mention sendero.

Ok, I’ll consider this. I like a big contour, especially for poi consistency for muzzle devices and my magneto speed for example.Bartlein 10 twist #3 contour. 2b if you want to keep it light, but doesnt sound like it since you mention sendero.

My thoughts are rechambering my Rem 700. It’s a 2nd barrel 22-250 Rem. The 60 grain HP Varminters from Sierra are lots of fun. 1:12 XCaliber did well.1-12 if you won’t need to shoot 180’s.

My Remington 700 22.250 with the 1-14 twist shoots 60 grain HP hornady great just a shame they discontinued the bullet #2275.My thoughts are rechambering my Rem 700. It’s a 2nd barrel 22-250 Rem. The 60 grain HP Varminters from Sierra are lots of fun. 1:12 XCaliber did well.
#1375 are a favorite of mine, to my knowledge they’re in production and in stock. But yea I’ve seen them shoot well even with the 1:14 standard twist rateMy Remington 700 22.250 with the 1-14 twist shoots 60 grain HP hornady great just a shame they discontinued the bullet #2275.
