Greetings!

I've been running some amazing loads with R17 but have been unable to find much of it at all in this current climate. I'm running 178 grain ELD-X at 3089 FPS and they perform flawlessly on all the critters. Any suggestions for an easier to find replacement powder would be greatly appreciated!

I use the same load at close to the same fps. Fortunately I have a few bottles of 17 yet, but when they run out I’ll likely try 4831sc.

Slightly abive max load of H4350 is getting me 3012 fps with the Barnes LRX 175. T3x with a 20" Benchmark barrel chambered in 300 WSM. Accuracy is good. Consistently seeing .5 - .9 five shot groups.

The pressure test of 12 different charge weights was about 1.25" at 100 yds.. I was pleasantly surprised by that.

CCI 250 primers

***Editing to update the load listed above*** It was too hot. I backed down the charge after getting consistent signs of excess pressure. 2980-2990 fps is more realistic (in my rifle) without significant pressure signs. It's still warm, but I am more comfortable after reducing the load. I was using the most recent Barnes data and the current load is at the book max for the 175 LRX.

H4350 or H4831SC . . Either of those would be great.

When I had my 300 I used H100V. It worked well. I don’t remember the temp stability though.

H1000 seems to be a little easier to get now. That may be an option too.
