300 win mag/ 6.5 cm suppressor recommendations

I am looking to add a suppressor to use for both my 300 win mag and 6.5cm. My 300 win mag has a 24” barrel that I’ll need to change/thread for a suppressor, and my 6.5cm has an 18” barrel with a 5/8 direct thread. I’ve read that a lot of guys end up dedicating one can to each gun, and that may happen down the line but I will not be shooting these often enough to justify currently. It would likely be generous to estimate this can will see more that 200 rounds per year on average. I’d plan to use the direct thread option as I won’t be using both guns in the same hunt.

The main purpose of this can will be for hunting scenarios. Not all will be back country style but I will be packing the rifles around the vast majority of the time so weight/balance is important. I do like the idea of some recoil suppression for repeat target acquisition, mainly for the 300. Sound suppression is important as I’d like the option to shoot in a hunting scenario without ear pro but I understand it will be a bit of a give/take to get something at a size/weight that makes it practical for hunting.

I’ve read a few reviews on here but I haven’t came across my specific scenario yet. What recommendations would anyone consider for this situation?

AB Raptor 10.

Mine does a fine job with the 5inch reflex on my 300WM and the 10stack with the flush mount is dynamite on a creedmoor. Well worth the weight, which is minimal, in both scenarios. It's really impressive on a 223 bolt gun!!

If I had to choose 1 suppressor for multiple rifles it'd be the Raptor 10. I think a 3inch reflex would be pretty good on the magnum, too.

Let me first say that I have heard a lot of different suppressors on a lot of different rifles. This year my best friend and I went on a quest to make out 300 Win Mag rifles as quiet as possible. We both enjoy hunting with the big guns and wanted to tame them down a bit.

My rifle is a 22” barrel shooting Berger 215s at 2900fps and weighs 9.5lbs total. On this rifle I have used an Omega 300, Harvester EVO and a Harvester 300. The Harvester 300 was actually the one that would allow me to shoot the rifle without ear protection, but it was still quite loud.

My friends rifle is a 26” barrel, also shooting the 215 Berger at 2900fps and weighs 12lbs. He has mostly used a TBAC 30p1 which was re-cored with the Ultra-9 baffle system. It was definitely quiet enough for a shot or two but it certainly had a sharp crack to it. It wasn’t much different from any of my other suppressors.

He ended up getting a Dead Air Nomad LTi and I got a great deal on an Otter Creek Labs Hydrogen L. Both of these two suppressors were selected based on the ratings given to them at the TBAC suppressor summit and PEW science. What I will tell you is that either one of these two suppressors are WAY quieter than anything we have tried before. They make our 300s sound like a .22lr with high velocity ammo, and that’s not a joke. My friend is running the SRS brake on his Nomad and it changes the sound just a touch and does help with recoil. Both of the suppressors reduce recoil to the point that I don’t even think about recoil when shooting mine anymore. If you are looking for maximum suppression, these are the two I’d recommend. If you just want a good hunting can that might still require ear pro, there are tons of options out there.

I was actually going to recommend the Nomad-L Ti as well. I have the Ti XC and it is a great small/short suppressor, but I think the 300 would be better served with the L. Have recommended that to a few people and they have all been extremely happy with it.

Outside of that one, if suppression is your main goal I'd check out the Magnus line, either the RR version or regular. If you want the ability to run end caps whether caliber specific or not, plus a brake, I'd check out the cans offered by Abel Co. I have their Theorem-S with 6.5mm end cap and brake and I love the can. Small, compact, and greatly reduces recoil.

Thunderbeast Magnus. Crazy quiet on my 300 win mag
I have a Magnus on my 21" 300wsm shooting 185 juggs. Very quiet and really slows the recoil impulse to shoot all day comfort levels. Although I can't maintain a sight picture with the slow push. I have a kifaru gun bearer on my eco k4 pack and I don't notice the extra length. I love this setup!

Awesome Yea awesome suppressor and I do the gunbearer setup.

I use an Omega 300 for that bracket. It’s not the best or lightest, but they are cheap and durable.

I have shot 6.5cm thru the TBAC Ultra 7/9. Impressive reduction in sound. Recoil was equivalent of my Little Bastard without the blast (and the guys complaints next to me).

Was choosing between the TBAC Magnus S RR SR and the Able Co Theorem with the brake cap. Ended up going with the Magnus. Reports when I have it on the 6.5cm and 300wsm.
