Working up a load for South Dakota gun deer this fall. 125gr Sierra Pro Hunters. Haven't chronographed anything yet but these shoot really well with 44.4 grains of w748. 2.600 COAL to fit in my great grandfather's 1947 Savage model 99.

Also ordered some 130 gr TSXs to see if I can get those to shoot well. Should be pushing around 2800fps with a mild load of w748.
Anybody have the marbles tang sights for a 99 and have some feedback?

I have a 99 built in 1949. I bought 125 Nosler BT’s for it but haven’t ever worked them up. The heavy trigger and awkward safety turned me off a little bit. Also the weaver K4 has a terrible halo from delamination that has caused me to lose interest. I will get back to it. Eventually… following your thread though
