Looking to build a 300 rum in a 9 twist to shoot the 230 Berger’s I need a wyatts 4 inch mag box installed and am looking for a smith to help with the build. Any recommendations are much appreciated thanks

california, I’ve had pac nor rebarrel a couple of actions and they shoot great. I need a good smith to install an extended magazine box to use the 300 rum to its potential. I’ve shot and seen 4 nice bulls eat 7mm bullets the last 2 years and want a little more punch with the 230 bergers

Talk to Shawn Carlock at Defensive Edge. Call him. He often picks up the phone and is the best smith I've dealt with. But, get in line behind the .338 Terminator he's building for me this winter...;)

I'd just go with the .300 Terminator if you have to have a .308. He has the Terminator action and his own mag box like the Wyatts but just a smidge longer. Have heard good things about the Terminator action. Manners has his action so they can send out a stock inletted for it.

Just got off the phone with Sean. Great guy looking forward to doing business with him. Called back and was a pleasure to talk to and go over the build. Would highly recommend him to anybody for smith work. Just wait a little until my rifle is finished thanks

I have theTerminator action in a LRKM in the 338 Terminator + P and love it.

I won't do business with Shawn again... you can PM me if you'd like I don't need to shit talk him on here. I would definitely get it ordered today if you want it for hunting season I'll tell you that.

Keep the rifle as light as possible and get a little more velocity out of the heavy 30 cal bullets. Rifle is going to be used as a backpacking gun for elk and mule deer

Why do you want/need the plus p? mtmuley

I had him +P my 338 Edge and did not see enough increase in velocity to justify it, in my opinion. I don't what the +P throat has to do with the weight of the rifle but maybe I'm misunderstanding

The plus p throat has nothing to do with the weight of the rifle it has to do with the performance. I am trying to pack as much performance as I can in a backpack weight rifle. What kind of velocity gains did you see with the plus p throat?

Understood. We saw just under 50fps increase with the +P throat, thats with some high pressure loads also
