I'm looking for a solid pair of high-top, waterproof boots for hunting and general outdoor use. I’d prefer something in the 6-8 inch height range. My budget is around $300. My main focus is durability, and ofcourse, comfortability.

Are there any brands or specific models you’d recommend in this price range? And is the used route reccomended?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Boots are literally and figuratively not one size fits all. What might fit someone's foot perfect might not work for you. GoHunt shop has pretty good descriptions of their boots with flex ratings and I find it pretty helpful when browsing boots. I would prioritize fit over everything else.

If something from Hanwag meets your needs and you have a Fjallraven store in your area, check them out. I just picked up a pair of Alverstone II GTX boots for $133 out the door. 70% off, never gonna beat that.

You need to narrow down what you want exactly. Where are you using these/ for what ? If you give more of this type of information, guys will be able to help far more. Fit is everything with boots. If working from a defined budget, try on boots everywhere to find a couple models and sizes ,then watch the classifieds here. Lots of new/next to new boots get listed for all types of reasons.

I like having 2 types of boots throughout the season.

Lightweight hikers when it’s dry and Crispi Nevadas when it’s wet and cold.

I have this exactly, un-insulated Nevada's, and a pair of Summits.
I like the Summits better unless you need more ankle support in dicey terrain.

Zamberlan’s ZBPK last fits my foot well and the boots are high quality. They make quite a few styles, with different lasts. I see them on sale for 300-350 often. Worth a look.
