300 Blackout for deer

I have a BIL who has lost some shot deer to the blkout.
I can look up the info sure, but I’d rather ask here.

What’s yalls max range on deer?

Im not up to date on the blkout so are there subsonic rounds and standard loads?

There are sub and supersonic loads. I personally have only hunted with the 190 grn hornady sub-x. To me, it is a max 75 yard gun. I am sure it would perform okay further, but I think it needs very precise shots to be fully effective

Know a guy who loves his BO but loses deer, hogs, and turkeys to it. Think it is the whole suppressed thing.

I have a bolt 357 mag that throws 158s and 165s at 2,000 fps (they both register at 2000 on my chrono). Put a pointed 158 gr soft point like a Fury or a .355 165 gr FTX Hornady (from 350 Legend) at 2000 fps and you're ringing 6-8 inch steel plates at 200-250 yards every time.

Whenever I hear about 300 BO, i think of lighter but sturdier constructed bullets with 357 mag level or less energies. Low recoil from both.

No knocking the cartridge, just comparing what I use.

Not sure - I'd lean more to projectile choice or shot placement. Cartridge will kill just fine.
