3" Vanes

Maybe. But Jerry has been doing this for a long time and I'm willing to bet has fletched up more dozens of arrows with these vanes than the number of arrows fletched up with these by every single member on this forum. So I would think he would know if he was using the wrong glue. I do know that he uses primer before fletching these.

Every other vane I do no prep at all.......glue and go and they're good. Some of the newer QS's are easier to rip off, but the ones I have from 5+ years ago wouldn't come off using pliers. The base would stay stuck and the vane would rip off the base.

Just goes to show that everyone needs to do their own testing, as everyone has different standards and expectations.

Could have simply been a bad batch of vanes or glue, it can happen. I never experienced what you did with the SK's but I also don't think they warrant the price so I moved on.

Jerry does great work so I would never think it was something he did.

I've been using the SK300's on my XT Hunter 300's for a few years now. The only problem I had is the they will crease and do not rebound back to form as stated they would do. I had a couple hit the dirt in front of the bag target when trying to shoot past 80 yards and they have a permanent crease in them.

As far as noise goes they are no louder or quieter than the other vanes I've shot in the past. Animals seem to have the same perspective. All I know is they do an excellent job of stabilizing arrow flight with and without broad heads. I'll continue to use them until someone comes out with something much better. I'm ready to order another dozen fletched the same way.

I find it just the opposite. I think shield shaped vanes are louder in flight, at least in my experience.

I've been shooting the shield cut 3" vanetecs and just flethed up some of the 3" VMAX and the VMAX definitely seem quieter than the shield cuts.
