I have one on my bow. I’m going on an archery elk hunt next year. Should I sell it and get a 5 arrow?

You’ll probably be fine. But imagine sitting on top of a mountain, 10 miles from the truck with an empty quiver and an elk in range. That might bring a grown man to tears!

Well, they have plastic containers that carry (I think) 6 arrows. I could just carry that in my pack.

I've been hunting with a 3 arrow quiver for 17 years, never needed more but not saying I never will. It's a trade off between weight on your bow vs number of arrows. I usually bring 3 more in my pack on backpack hunts.

Have a 3 arrow as well and carried two extra in an arrow tube last year on my pack, mostly because I was away from dark to dark.

The times I have shot multiple times is when I took shots I shouldn't have...

I prefer the 3 arrow TS over my 4 arrow two riser mount.

I'll be going to a 3 arrow TS this year and on the outside of my pack I'll strap a light weight aluminum tube (fly rod tube), covered with fleece to keep quiet, with 4-6 more shafts in it. I love having little side weight on my bow.

I roll with 5, 1 or two of which are tipped with judo points for grouse and what not. If you are back in a ways seems like you would want more than 3 arrows whether on quiver or otherwise...packing a couple in a tube in a pack seems solid.

I had a 3 arrow and I’m going on my first DIY archery elk hunt in September. I was in your shoes and bought the 5 arrow and gave the 3 to my wife. I was going to get a plastic arrow holder to carry extras in my pack otherwise.

I suppose if one carried two extra broadheads for the stump arrow and judo arrow, a 5 arrow would be good. Otherwise you're really just packing around a 3 arrow quiver, but you have the option to carry 5 when needed.

I don't think I'd run with 3, although I often only have 4 essentially in a 5-arrow quiver (4 with broadheads and a judo). But I often have another couple arrows on my pack and a couple extra broadheads/judos. I do a lot of stump/sage/squirrel/grouse shooting to stay sharp while hunting.
