3/4 Ton AT Truck Tire?

Since these is a 3/4 thread, I wanted to see what guys would run if their commute home looked like this.
Currently running the hankook Ipike with studs and not really satisfied.
I feel like snow tires are great on the hard pack but just won’t dig in anything like this.
I know the answer is chains, which I have and use regularly.
Fortunately for me, this is the easy part of the road.

You need a real mud terrain to dig through deep snow like that but then they suck on the paved roads…. I’d park the skid steer or backhoe out by the road and plow your way in

I plow as much as is needed but this kind of thing can happen when you’re at work for the day and a road that is open looks like that when you’re coming home.
I get that it’s a pretty hopeless situation but wherever else I look online to see what people are doing, it’s just jeeps and guys off-roading for fun with dedicated rigs.
I figured rokslide would be the best place to find people doing similar things.

Toyo m55 if you want them to last, Toyo rt or at for all around, Falken for great on trails and road but will suffer bad wear. I’d put Hankook at extreme maybe with RR but forsure at

A skid steer with a snowblower is my tool for heavy snow removal. I don't have a truck plow but I am considering it now after my experiences this winter. I've lived in this area for several years now but recently moved a few miles farther from the blacktop and county roads. It's a little bit of a free for all back here, and some people help out, but many just sit at home and wait for someone else to clear the road.

Gotcha. I go back and forth but we really only have a bad winter once a decade.

I had those tires bought back from me by Cooper/discount tire because they started to shred belts at the tread. They bought me the bfg's I have now.

Very. I think it cost me about $200 to roll into a set of 35x12.50 r16 bfg ko2's.

I just put the BFG KO3’s on my 1 ton. Seemed an easy choice after a couple sidewall punctures on another brand tire. Need to start reducing the air pressure, when on certain off-road terrain, for extra assurance, though.

I’m all Toyo on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. Ran RT’s on my 17 super duty its whole life, just switched to the RT trails last week. 37-12.50x20. Only brand I can get over 40k out of with decent off road tread.

I like to run two sets of rims with straight summer and winter tires so I’m not constantly paying to mount and balance. I found that just about any real snow tire will do laps around 3 season..

That’s interesting, I have found snow tires to be good on my wife’s maverick and on my 3/4 ton around town but pretty disappointing for anything that isn’t hard pack snow.

Same. My wife's Rav4 has true snow tires on it and is on a different level, but six inches of snow is its kryptonite.

I’ve had good luck with the snow tires off road too. I have a hound and we go down a lot of seasonal roads trying to cut tracks. I spend a lot of time saying oh s#%$, but we never seem to get stuck..

On another note, I’d rather have any tire with chains as a backup, than the best tire and no chains!

So how does everyone feel about oversize tires?

I am considering sizing up this time. A little more money but more clearance and a better look. Stock just looks tiny on this vehicle.

I’ve been happy with winterforce and Dunlop winter max on my Silverados and f250. And surprisingly my Chevy trax with snow tires is a beast. The only thing that stops it is enough snow to suspend it off the ground. I have had Kelly all season and copper at3 tires that were ok for 3 seasons
