I went up to 55 grains and started getting an ejector mark. Backed off to what I felt would be safe in all temps. It shoots stupid good out to 1000yds. Very happy with it.Excellent! That’s very helpful. Would you say that’s at the upper end pressure wise? If I could duplicate that I would be very satisfied.
Thanks for the info! Should work for what I’m doing too.A 284 Tikka or some short action with a Baney mag box that allows a 3.100 OAL, a 22in tube, a 168 Berger, and Defensive Edge doing their +P to the throat, I bet you'd be right around 3000fps using RL26.
That sounds great. Ideal for what I’m looking for. And who know what else will be offered in the near future as far as sleeker ogive, will be great to have the flexibility to accommodate future bullets too.I went up to 55 grains and started getting an ejector mark. 19" 162eldm H4350 (not the fastest powder option) 2760fps.Resurrecting this.... Anyone, have real-world numbers for 18" 284win velocities with 162s and/or 180s?
In a tikka mag (no coal restriction) and a custom throat if necessary
Thanks, does the SAAMI chamber allow 162s to be at/above the neck/shoulder junction?19" 162eldm H4350 (not the fastest powder option) 2760fps.
FYI the standard sammi throat in a non-traditional way is actually pretty long, there is zero freebore but it starts out oversized and has a long gradual taper so it ends up with a fairly long throat in terms of seating bullets in the case.

Nice, I was looking to use PBB. Do you know if you're jammed with 175 or 180s?@il_cop PBB sammi reamer, I forgot how much jump these originally had without checking notes but was probably around 0.050” Regardless I am not jamming lands seated out near the junction.
