25-7prc or 25 saum

This was the 2nd 5 shot group of the 10 shots, not shot slow. 1st 3 are the tight ones.

Loaded up the rest of my 1x fired brass and will get out tomorrow and or this week and stretch it
What is the COL of your loaded rounds? Trying to figure out if it would fit in standard Tikka action or if I'd need the UM DBM and mag. I would need to get a mag bolt.

I am running tikka factory and it fits with plenty of room, also using a hells canyon armory mag due to the shoulder blocks, but plenty of room.

Looks good and thank you. Regarding the shoulder blocks, i see the HC mag has the shoulder blocks cut at an angle. Did you have feeding issues with the factory mags?

The dies are fine, I don't care for micrometers really, just when I ordered my die that is what was available so I got it. The 25 cal vld stem seams to work as it should, I didn't see any marks or issues with it.

I went two steps on the necks, I think .298 and then .284 is what I had, got a couple bushings coming incase I want to mess with neck tension some more, but so far I think this will get me there.
Just out of curiosity what did the final outside neck measurement end up being on a loaded case? I’m guessing you’re around .286ish if you’re using a .284 bushing. I have a barrel being spun up and I want to get bushings headed my way so I can do brass prep. Thanks!

Perfect, I appreciate the info! Now I just have to get some bushings coming and I’ll be ready to roll when my smith gets here finished up.

N570 runs great in my 25sst and it’s 2gr less h20 capacity than the SAUM. As for a seater die check out the Frankfort Arsenal universal bullet seating die for $80.

To the op a 25-7prc should do 3000 in an 18” easily. If you’re going that short though a 25prc,25sst,25saum will do the same with n570. But if you already have the SAC die I understand wanting to stick with 7prc case. Looking at WTO 25-7prc data with n570 it runs about 50-70fps faster using 9gr more powder than my 25sst.

I had my 25sst bbl set back and shorted from 26” to 18”. Once it speeds up I think Il be right at 3000 fps with n570 and the 131ACE.
Great velocity for a short barrel!
