Anyone loading this combo?
Anyone have load charts specifically for this combo with more hodgdon powders?
The barnes site is minimal, the hodgdon site has the 85tsx and 80gmx, both seem to be loaded fairly conservative compared to barnes (and others anecdotes which are likely hotter towards 65ksi vs <60ksi on hodgdon). I can certainly extrapolate a ballpark to work in based off various sources and experiences with loading barnes in other calibers but just curious what data folks have handy.
Need to work up a load for a tikka for the kiddos to hunt with. I have varget and H4831SC for powder options (little fast or a little slow...); WLR, WLRM, and Rem9.5 primers. Originally I was thinking varget/WLR but H4831SC doesn't look bad if running <60ksi (seems like you end up compressed but with decent velocity before hitting 60ksi).
Would the H4831SC be less snappy on recoil? I have a brake on the gun so its a kitten to shoot but in some hunting situations would probably spin that off if I thought ear pro deployment might be an issue.
