JBM, using JBM's stated length/tiplength for the 109, shows me in the 1.5x range depending on what pressure and temperatures I put in.

Of course, both models are based on theory and subject to reality. lol.

I'm not even sure it's something I want to do yet. I like the concept of a shorter, lower-recoil 6mm, but I have to remind myself that the 6.5cm is working really well and the marginal gains in shootability between it and a similar 6mm, are small, and only come at the far end of another string of expenses I could do without.

But that's sort of the story of my life, as far as guns go.

Yep, I'm actually moving to the 95 TMK for hunting given reports of inconsistent performance from ELDMs. The ELDM is still a fine choice, but inside 500 yards I don't think the improved BC will help enough to really matter.

When I switch to a 7 twist 6 creed I will probably stay with the 95 TMK, but it is hard to resist the temptation to mess with things.

I'm curious, will the 8-twist Tikkas fully stabilize the 109eldm?

An 8-twist Tikka would certainly be the easy-button for a light/short 6mm.

Edit: for clarity I’ve shot these out of 1:8 243 and 243 AI at basically sea level and they work great

Load it liked for dogs, could get over 3k without pressure but 2950 grouped stupid well so that’s where I stopped.

Going to tinker with 108s more this winter and see how fast I can really get them.

I know the +P didn't work out with the 6UM, was curious if it was a 6mm thing or just 6UM thing.
I could see a 243 +P Fury being interesting.

Mine is not UM ie shawns +p. It’s tweaked so as to on paper not see the burn out. Time will tell if it’s better or worse, holding up good now but that’s means nothing for longevity yet.

What's your round count at this point?

And is your modified+p available from any particular gunsmith or reamer mfg? I'd kind of like to try it but don't really want to buy a reamer

Shawn Carlock has a patent on it and UM is the only lic. shop to use it.
iirc, $215 to +P a chamber through UM, $200 through Shawn.
