243 win vs 6mm creed

where did you get it? every compact I've seen from scheels, sportsman's warehouse and euro optic are all 1:10
I made my daughters a compact in about 20 seconds. Add a couple minutes running a drill bit in the screw holes to make them deeper. The pad was or is a little proud around the edge. I thought about grinding it to fit. Then I thought about a grind to fit pacmyer I have leftover from the high tech stock days. Then I decided to just wrap a little bit of the back with the same vet wrap I used to cover her suppressor to make it match the stock. Looks totally fine and the whole project took less than 5 minutes. If this was one of the beautiful wood stocks guys have been making it would be a different story but it's a factory synthetic stock I let her paint.

243 throat geometry isn't great for heavy match bullets, and if it was, prob too long for 95% of short actions out there.

6cm is the easy by button as there is no ammo at LGS for a 243 with heavies. Lots of 6cm options. Personally I'd want 7.5tw in either, so any these 8tw 243/6cm options would be non-starter for me.

I'm waiting on my 6saw reamer. Basically a long necked 6cm that 2.015 case length. Holds same capacity as 243, but doesn't have the short neck and low angle shoulder, 0.150 Freebore will be fun. Hoping for 3k fps top end from a 20in barrel wirh the new 115-117 tmk.

Bringing this back up for a follow up question. A lot of guys here swear against the Ruger, I don't get it because I have one in 6.5 creed and think it's nice, but oh well. Question is I planned on selling that ruger (it's nice to me but everything is always for sale) to fund either a 6 creed or 243 purchase for the wife. Been for sale no scope for $500 for a while without much real interest. Guy local to me wants to trade straight up for a Howa Mini in 6mm arc. From what I can see 6 creed numbers are about 200-300fps faster than 6 arc. Should I stop being worried about the cartridge and be more worried about the gun? Would I be an idiot for NOT taking this trade? I see the Howas are praised on here a lot.

I would go with the 243win myself. I have the dies, brass and plenty of bullets up to 100gr. Which is what I did. But went with a tikka compact and chopped to 16”. With a limbsaver and an omega 300 there is almost no recoil.

I’m like the 95gr partition I’ve got worked up.

I don't get the Ruger hate here either. Personally I've had 3 Tikkas and 4 Ruger Americans and still have 3 of the Rugers and none of the Tikkas, but to each their own.

As far as the cartridges, I have both a 6 Creedmoor and a 6 ARC and the 6 Creedmoor is going up for sale soon. Shooting the 108 ELD-M out of them I get 2950 and 2675 respectively, so at the elevations and conditions that I normally hunt at I'm good for expansion out to 500 with the 6 ARC vs 700 with the 6 Creedmoor and while I have no problem shooting that distance at the range I won't shoot that far at an animal.

As far as the Howa, I can't really help you there, but I would take the trade and try it out.
