"In the past 5 years I've missed 3 elk, shot one's front leg off, and finally killed one with my pistol after hitting it in the ass 3 times. I use a 7lb .460 Weatherby. I'm wondering if the recoil is part of the problem. Any advice?"

"Well, have you tried cowboy-ing up?"

"I shot 1000 rounds of 375 H&H in 2 days so you don't have to"

I wonder what is the most consecutive shots hes taken on the range with it, and what that group looked like?

I know by the time I hit 20 with a .338 win mag, Ive got to take a break. A .375 that weighed less than 15 pounds would be awful by that mark. I never shot mine more than I think 15 times in a day and that was gettinf rough.

You guys know what he sounds like?
I used to get cartridge advice from Backfire and Ron Spomer on YouTube where this guy appears as a guest sometimes. I was about to pull the trigger on a T3x in 7 PRC, then came here to see what people recommend... tripped and fell into the rabbit hole.

It's pretty easy to run into his content on accident. I didn't know who he was, but when people here referred to his voice and the wallop factor, it's easy to put 2 and 2 together. Buddy could probably make money in voice acting/narrating to be honest.

I came here looking for advice on how to do better in colorado, toting around a .338 win mag, and now im hunting with a .223 loaded with match bullets a SWFA scope and a 12" suppressor.
I came here looking for advice on how to reload reduced loads, toting around a 30-06, and now im hunting with a .223 loaded with match bullets a SWFA scope and a 12" suppressor.

Tru story… 🤣🤣🤣

Oh if anyone is interested. A grizzly bear that was close to 7 foot (I did not get great measurements) and very fat was 13 inches across the chest. I stuck a trekking poles through, marked a spot and measured it just now after forgetting about it the other day. So the 77 gr. TMK did 12-13 inches through one side of ribs and lungs before it stopped (no penetraion on the far side).

I don't know how I feel. On the one hand the bear died fine. On the other hand... it felt a bit marginal. Big issue was the hole of actual destroyed tissue was never wider than an inch and less going into lugs. I'll try to get more testing but I'm very sure my bigger rifles have done more tissue damage. I would not call anyone a fool for looking at that would channel and saying "I want a bit more" My 308 and 358 made wider/longer wound channels through moose that were noticeably thicker than the the bear killed with a 223.
