The PSA 75 blacktops have done well for me. I would avoid the HP bullets as my results have not been similar to FMJ’s. They just didn’t expand enough to drop them quickly.

Those black tops shoot quite decently for me as well.

The PSA Sabre line is pretty decent for the price. Usually about $11-12/box. Buy enough to make shipping worth it.

They are $50 for a 50 round box. thats better than the Hornady Match ive been getting at $28.99 for 20.

Shooting at hogs, it sounded like. Maybe I should've phrased it "for a hunt next month". Sounds like an occasion to just go down to the nearest ammo store, buy some 73ELDMs and start shooting.

I shoot seconds quite often, with good results.

I shot a couple of fallow does recently with my new .223, using Fiocchi 55gn soft point factory loads. I only bothered to recover one projectile but it entered at the top of the heart on a slightly quartering away shot and was lodged in the inside of the opposite shoulder joint. I didn't weigh the projectile but only the jacket was recovered.

Ill have some pics later but a buddie of mine took a real nice spring bear.... tikka 223 1-8" twist 77 tmk shit was 342 yards no exit bullet entered behind the on side leg and blew the top of the heart to mush then stopped on far side hide with 46% weight retention. Plus we seen 16 snow shoe rabbits on the way out and their open till April 30th.... so he capped 4 of them with his 223 with head shots as well. Over all solid day seen 10 elk,16 moose about 82 mule deer 21 white tails 4 coyotes and 9 grouse.

Alberta has gotten with the times and is now allowing 22 cal centerfires for big game. I couldn’t be happier, I have a tikka 1:8 already and have a small 12 year old girl who just finished her hunter education, this setup will be perfect for her.

I read the whole thread but only skimmed the parts about cool ARs and suppressors since Canada is so lame and gay and I’ll never have them until we get liberated and become the 51st state. Found some 77 TMKs and 75 ELDMs and some aftermarket mags for seating long, found some good loads already and I’m ready for business. I’ll be trying them out on the upcoming bear hunt with confidence.

Ordered an 11.5” AR today and a couple hundred rounds of the AAC TMK ammo to see how it shoots. Still have a bunch of 73 ELDMs too. Just need to figure out an optic.

I have a Sig Tango MSR 1-6 on one of my 10.5's that I mainly use as a backup/loaner rifle for classes and while it is not the best optic I have ever used it is pretty nice for the price and has stood up well to the rough handling it's been subjected to.

For higher end, my primary 10.5 has been wearing an Eotech Vudu 1-6 for the last year and half or so and I have no complaints about it other than the price.

My ARs wear either aimpoints or the swfa 1-4. I will get an NX8 1-8 eventually but almost certainly for a 16 or 18 incher.
