.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

Took the "Pink Panther" out to 500 yards on my steel plate and went 10 for 10.

The first 7 (right of center) shots I held the wind call in the reticle. The last 3 (left of center) I dialed the wind call. I'm going to revisit my zero and make sure my windage is centered but it isn't bad overall for shooting accross and down a dranage with a light wind. At the elevation I was at, I have 1800 fps to 550 yards but I don't know that I'd be comfortable shooting a black bear at that distance right now just due to having to make sure that there are no cubs with the bear and hunting solo. I hope to have more time to practice and bear hunting in the coming weeks.

Be hard to lose that rifle in the brush, I;m digging the pink.

I figured if I was going to shoot a "girls gun" I'd go all in on it. Plus it is a very non threatening gun. Everyone laughs and joke until they shoot it and they can't miss. Fun build that shot just as well with the Houge stock that came on my 6mm ARC. I only put it in a new B&C stock for the added stiffness for using a bipod and the clamp on my BogPod tripod.

What’s the dimensions of the plate?

Not sure. Can't find it on the Sportsmans website but that tracks since I bought it around covid time. I'm driving and don't have a tape in the truck. It is around 12". It's not a hanging gong, it sits on the ground and tilts forward. Has 2 rods that go through the holes.

Hmmm. I think I may have actually read it on rokslide. I think someone said it tastes about like beaver. I assumed beaver was good... A guy once told me it was very good.

Maybe they're both nasty and those two guys are short a few marbles
I like marmot, just a giant squirrel. But, to your point, I've lost my marbles.

Loading VV powders (N135, N140, N150) I have hit pressure prior to VVs max. YMMV.

Loading N565 in my 6.5 PRC, I didn’t hit pressure until nearly 4 gr over their max for the 144/143 data, which fell in line with several others load data posted on this site.

Agreed though, probably was too broad with my statement.

Copy.

12” works for elk, 8” for deer, 4” for marmots.

I may just be pressure sensitive, saw it in 223 and 308 with VV powderes and have pressure before book max on my 243 using H4350.

I tried ignoring the ejector swipes and intermittent heavy bolt lift, making various excuses to include not being over book max; until I blew some primers on the 223, then decided to be a bigger sissy on everything. I could probably push harder, especially with better brass.

Well, this will certainly change things around with the .223/5.56 rounds. Badlands Munitions Shell Shock ammunition with nickel alloy cases. In this tests the Shell Shock ammunition averaged 225 fps faster then Black Hills ammunition, both loaded with 77 grain Sierra Match King bullets.

17:30 for his testing of the 77 grain ammunition in an 18" barreled AR.

What are your thoughts on this? It's bringing the technology of the 277 Fury and 7 Back Country to the 5.56 cartridge. This could add yards to the effective range of the cartridge, possibly make bullets perform a little better in a barrel with a marginal twist rate with the added velocity.

Much like Berger data (under the same capstone ownership), viht data seems to vary from conservative to hot depending on cartridge. It's possible that it's real and the delta is what cartridges show pressure sooner.. But yeah, i've noticed their data seems really hot on 223 and pretty hot on 6 creed (at least with n555) but quite mild on others.

Also, i recently loaded a bunch of 223 with "below common internet loads" of H4895 and XBR and now i've got a bunch of hard to get Lapua brass with primer pockets that loosened up considerably after 1 firing.

That sucks.

It’ll definitely negate the cheap practice part of the 223

That is a pretty common thing, new brass should be seasoned with a mild load first firing, it work hardens the brass and after that can handle pressure better

It would definitely be in the "for serious use only" category. A few for chronographing and sighting in, save the rest for "seriious use only".
Will be interesting if it pans out, but so far, the guys messing with them on the UL-UL Rifle thread (including me) have had kind of wonky results with their cases.

I also noted previously on their site, that velocities they listed weren't any faster than what I can load brass cases. According to this video, maybe that part has changed (?).

$1.45/rnd vs $0.90/rnd for Norma GTM 77 match kings...

No thanks

Ok...now compare to a 22 arc. If they'll load the TMKs to near 22 arc speeds. Now we've got a gun that has cheap blaster ammo, but can flex up into a really good hunting setup. That would check a lot of boxes for a lot of people.

I bugged em on IG to make some TMKs. I received a positive response. I think roksliders would hoover them up. Even if they just made a brass option. Their price point lands nicely between aac and black hills. Neither which are readily in stock.

Took this one with a 62 grain gold dot over TAC at 85 yards back in February.
This is the third deer taken cleanly with this combo for me.
Black and white pic is a still taken from a wireless video camera at the shot.
Missed this one. Cool deer and nice mount.

Did you get a pass through? Blood? What area is it from?
