My BIL and I have killed quite a few hogs with those this year, they work fine. And the price is hard to beat.

Hey guys, long time watcher, first time poster. I am getting ready for deer hunting in Michigan especially with early antlerless right around the corner and I have a few questions. As I am unable to reload, what 223/5.56 loads would you recommend for Michigan deer with the 77 Tmk shortage? Would you rather use 73 or 75 eld-m? Lastly, I am used to hunting woods and taking shoulder shots with a 30-06 but I am hunting more fields where I will limit my shots to 300 yards, would I be fine taking a shoulder shot at all ranges under 300 or do I need to switch to behind the shoulder shots? I would prefer taking shoulder shots if possible. I am not worried about meat loss, I would rather have them drop in the field. Thanks in advance!

Well hopefully I can get some more data to share this season. I picked up a t3x varmint in .223 the other day and the 73gr eldm with 24gr of varget is showing some promise. I’m going to load up some more and make sure it’s repeatable and run some over a chronograph then it’s time to get some coyotes for practice

I don’t have the bullets or brass yet but already have some cheap 22-250 FL did and seater. Wondering if I need to get a Hornady seater with their special stems

Probably depends somewhat on the stem in your current die. Most likely it's not absolutely needed, but I did get one and it seems less apt to leave a ring indent on the TMKs. That said, I haven't done any kind of compressed loads using it, yet, as I did with the original seater stem.

77 TMK at 259 yards. Quartering towards me and down hill. Struck slightly off centre at the base of the neck (front of the withers). This was a big animal.

Yes. 223 Howa Mini Action. I'm a little over 50 rounds down the barrel without issue. Works good in the Tikka for guys that have them.

Finally worked up a load with the 77gr TMK, LC brass, Tula mag primers, and XBR 8208. Started at 23.2 and ended up at 23.8. The last 5 shots were 2704 fps with a 7.8 SD. This is out of a Stag 3G upper that is used primarly as a night time coyote rifle with 53gr V-max. My grandson is a small 9 yr old and this is my only rifle that I can adjust small enough for him. I may try the same load out of my Tikka varmint, but I have some 75gr ELDM that are running 3025 fps with H4895 and have taken a big doe at 440 yards with that rifle. I put 3 on my 325 yard coyote with a 8 phm full value wind. Held for the wind and only need about half what Strelok pro was saying. We saw lots of doe with fawns last weekend, hoping a lone doe or a decent buck shows this Saturday.

Sighted in my wife's suppressed RAR 5.56 today with 55 grain ball. This was the first 5 shot group with Black Hills 77 TMKs. She said it was the first time she ever really had fun shooting. Life is good!
