Tikka prefit from PVA. I’ll be sure to post up when it arrives.

Should be a slick gun with a suppressor. I’m hoping for around 3K out of the 88s. Iv got 77tmk to use in it as well but will probably go with the more efficient bullet.

I’m hoping this will be my do it all deer gun. Those bullets are still moving at 500, and I don’t see myself ever shooting at deer size game much farther.
Don't sleep on the 75 eld-m. Same wind #, flatter trajectory.

Form,

Assuming 5000 DA ish, 20 ish degrees if after the blizzard, that’s in the 800 yard range with the Form/wkr special…

Do I have that correct or in the neighborhood?

Side question, 2 elk ago you had pic of someone’s hand and a black neoprene looking glove, curious what that is.
You’re spot on. 803 yds.

No s**t !

Definitely interested in more detail on high lung shot trama, as I assume that pic is back near spine. Is that both bullets or one separated?

That is one bullet.

Chest shot, entrance.

We didn’t get, or somehow lost the pictures of the lungs. It destroyed the top front 3-4” of the lungs.

We'll be twins. Interested to compare our barrels performance, I got a Preferred. What profile did you go with?
I looked at preferred, but have a PVA and was happy with the work.

3b. The way PVA contours their blanks thought they estimate around .73” at 16.5”. I’m not too concerned with weight as long as it’s reasonable.

Be interesting to see how both go. I was really about to buy an action and send it out for this but decided to give a prefit a go for this barrel to see how I like the cartridge.

Yeah I ran some numbers on strelok and with a muzzle velocity of 3k it doesn’t break the 1700 mark until about 800 if I remember off hand.

Beyond velocity at my intended ranges, seems like the 88s provide similar wind performance as it’s bigger brothers, with less recoil, in a short barrel. I don’t expect barrel life to be spectacular though.

Will be nice to go from a 4 to a 6mph gun in my home environment. And being that it’s a pretty flat round it should do me well on ranging errors in the field.

Iv got some of those to give a go for coyotes and varmints. I’m worried they will be a bit explosive at over 3K

Not sure on explosiveness but a local gun shop owner shoots them at 3600 out of his 22 creed. I think a 24” barrel. Says they don’t move after being hit with one.

Another elk. This one at very low impact velocity. 1,440fps impact. 77gr TMK. First shot was through scapula, high lung, second shot back of ribs and broke the spine. Total distance traveled was 30’ish yards.

Still upsetting quite well-

Did you do a ladder test with that rifle?

Good to know. As noted above the 75 gives me the same wind number out to my intended range, so it’s an option. I’ll probably break the barrel in with 75 eldm and see what they do.

If he's got a 7 twist barrel why step down longer range performance for nearly the same cost? 88's are available everywhere. And if hes keeping it under 3100 fps or so his barrel life will be pretty good especially if he's not ripping off shots back to back to back all the time.

Iv got 500 88s on the way.

I’m hoping to keep them around 3000 to avoid spinning them too fast.

Peterson Brass did some pressure testing with a universal receiver and the 22 Creed.
A 90 grain bullet @ 3350 fps was 84,693 psi
An 80 grain bullet @ 3500 fps was 77,343 psi
and at @3700 fps the 80 grain was 83,818 psi
There is no SAMMI for the 22 Creed, but max pressure in both 6&6.5 creed is 62,000 psi
Not trying to start a fight just trying to save someone some trouble.

Seems like a lot of guys are really pushing on the 22 creed. My plan is to not redline it.
I got 100 rounds of 88 ELD-M from UM while waiting on components.

Their load card says 3250 fps…my LabRadar says 3050 (22” barrel). Hopefully she speeds up

Honestly out of 16” I’ll be happy with 2900.

At that velocity it carries the same wind number as my 20” 6.5cm. Ad should be stupid easy to shoot.
