223 Brass

There is a way to get Lapua 223 brass, you will just need to shoot it first.....comes in a yellow box.

I use Starline 5.56 brass predominantly, mix in some others. Sig brass seams good for the 40 pieces I have used.

I like Lapua brass but i dont $2+/round of 223 like lapua brass! holy heck.

Getting enough same lot Berger for a 223 ends up expensive.

That’s why I went to adi.

Iv not been super impressed with Starline as of yet.

What are you referring to? Just curious, I’ve I’ve been really happy with Starline, especially for the money. Less than $0.10/each if you get three firings. I’ve had great accuracy.

Just in consistency. I don’t have many firings on it yet, but will soon.

Jack Neary from Capstone Precision Group (Lapua) posted on accurate shooter, that 223 Lapua brass will resume production next month and be available at your favorite Lapua retailer in late Feb. or March.

Also brand new Lake City is available from Midway for $65/250

Consistency of the the brass itself? What are you seeing?
Differing seating forces on the arbor press. Nothing crazy but not like alpha lapua or adi where everything feels the same.

Iv got 200 setup for prs practice for the next few months before I swap back over to my match barrel, I’ll have more to say by the end of March.

That seems like a solid price and option. Only lake city i've bought has been bulk range pickup and I'd much rather have some that hadn't already been run through an automatic rifle.

Anytime I feel that I attribute it to my deburring/chamfering. Maybe it is the brass itself but it’s not just with cheap brass that I have felt it. Can’t say for sure what it is, but if it shoots I just move on.

The barrel I have is not impressing me so far so how it shoots is up in the air.

The price sure was right, I think 500 pieces was around 120 bucks

Lake city is good brass, I pick up tons of pieces left behind at the range. Lapua is great as well, so looking forward to eventually seeing it on the shelves again.

The brass itself is usually about $1/round. Add 30¢/bullet, 10¢/primer, 16¢ in powder and you're at about $1.56/round. Shopping around with discounts you can get the loaded ammo near $1.75ish...

Loading 200 of these takes me way more than $40 in my time.

Lapua has been the best for me.
But starline is 2nd inline.
Ive been testing with the starline 5.56 brass and its impressive for the price.
