I'm back on the 223 bolt action kick. For some reason we need one.

Varmint and predator hunting. Any particular model you would go for? I'm a big tikka fan.

How about barrel length and twist? Is there a twist out there that would handle lighter varmint rounds (50 to 55 gr would love to go lighter) and heavier (68g+) predator rounds? I reload so I can tailor loads to make it work well.

Thx Pete

I think you'll get lots of answers to just buy a tikka in your favorite flavor( new models should all be threaded). The 1:8 twist they use has given me good groupings from 55- 75 gr bullets.

Tikka in whatever version makes you excited is hard to beat. Lite/SS if you want a work horse, superlite if you like flutes, heavy barrel if that's your thing.

Suppress if at all possible, 18" or less for the can or 20-22" if you must do bare muzzle,, 1:8 twist.
