Hi,
Looking for some general load data on 220 swift. I have a Remington 700 Sendero that has been sitting in my safe for a long time. It is/was a tack driver with some reloads but record keeping is non existent. I would like to work up some new loads.

Looking at a max range of 400 yards. Wondering at what range most zero for and hold over at 100 yards. Bullet weight?

Thanks any advice.

I shoot the nosler 55 gr ballistic tips in mine also a Remington 700 with bull barrel. Shoots well enough for me. I am not sure of powder or gr but I know I am on the light side of load possibly H380.

If it’s like my 22-250’s the twist is 14 so 50-55 grain is where I would look at max bullet weight. Hodgdon reloading data on line is an available resource also. I use Leupold vh reticle optics on mine so zero is 200 yards and 18.5 power lines my drops good out to 425 yards with a 52gr Speer target at 3800 fps.

I’ve never been able to zero at 200 or 250 yards and been accurate enough holding over at 400 yards to hit anything, but it does simplify hitting small varmints up close. In my 22-250 or 22 Creed I’ll walk around with the scope set at 300 yards. 100 and two hundred, you’re a hand width high, 350 is a hand width low and 400 is around two hand widths low. It’s handy that a coyote body is two hand widths from nipples to back so holds are easy to remember.

Thanks for the reply. I will be prepping brass this evening and perusing loading manuals. Hate for this rifle to remain a safe queen
