Hey folks,

I think I would like either a 6mm or 22 Creed and im a correcty. I am not spending "full custom" or high end rifle money, many of them dont offer a LH action anyway.

So what im thinking is getting a used lh gun in 308, 6.5cm, 243, 7-08, etc so I can get a working gun with the factory bolt, getting a barrel and building from there.

T3x and Savage 110 are probably the most common options out there that also have reasonable prices. Any others you would be looking for if you were in my boat that also have solid aftermarket support? Sadly that leaves out the Ruger American G1(because of lack of aftermarket support from what ive found) and G2(not available in LH yet or I would probably just buy one and be done)

I have both a Tikka 308 & 110 6.5CM, I like elements of both. I think this will be a midweight(10ish lbs) small-med game/target rifle, heavy-ish 22-24" barrel with possibly a MDT XRS, Field Stock, maybe Oryx and a decent magnification(6-24ish) FFP scope.

I'll be putting my 110 in a XRS soon so ill know if I like that, hopefully so and I can stick with that for familiarity. in LH, the XRS is available for 700, 110 SA, and T3x.

Again, I am NOT going full custom or boutique, I know ill have to spend over $1000, but I believe I can be under $2000 to get a really solid rifle like I am envisioning, so please keep those comments to yourselves.

Stick with the Tikka for the simple reason they are much smoother to operate. Savages may be just as accurate but the bolt travel is clunky and the feeding is no where near as smooth as the Tikka.
Other options are a used left handed Remington 700 in .308 or a used or new Ruger Scout rifle in .308.

I do love the action of my Tikka., i know my 110 wont ever bee as smooth. one very minor thing i like about my 110 over the Tikka is the 3 position safety. Its really minor but its nice.

Also, a related question.

IF i get another 110, keep the barrel nut or get a custom barrel without? With a barrel nut, I can assemble myself. without will require a gunsmith. significant cost difference between the 2.
