anyone out there with real world experience using a 22 CM on hogs? Thinking about using one at night with a thermal but I don't like the idea of chasing wounded hogs in the dark if the 22CM isn't up to the task...

I’ve put down quite a few with head shots from 3 to 200 yards with 77 TMKs and 62 ELD-VTs. To be honest though I’m generally shooting them center mass so they’ll run off and die in the woods instead of in the farmers fields in hunting.

Killed one about a month ago with my 22arc. Roughly 80 yard shot using the 75gr ELDM factory ammo. Complete pass through on the shoulder and the pig never made another step. Pig weighed roughly 100 lbs. I know it’s not 22cm but if the 22arc can do it I have no doubts about the 22cm.

22creed works fine on hogs. I’ve shot quite a few and always recovered them with the 22creed & 22arc with the 70cx, 80eldm, 85berger, 88eldm, and 90smk. Aside from the 70cx, broadside vital shots work fine and they go 50-100yds and drop, even the 300pounders. If it were me for night hunting and I wanted to find them I’d go 80eldm. It’s the only one that consistently gives good blood trails on the entrance side with muzzle velocities from 2950-3200. The 90smk at MV 3000-3100 passes through most of the time to and gives good blood trail if that’s what your looking for. Of course if you want to drop them go head, neck, or frontal chest shot, with most bullets.

I know .22LR works. I don't track any that run off though so maybe a little different use case but a CCI Stinger in front of the ear turns the lights out quick.
