Do any of the higher end 22 caliber silencers stand out over the others in any meaningful way? In other words, is the TBAC take down 22 any better than the dead air mask or vice versa? I know that the higher end ones are likely better than the cheap ones but if you’re in that 4-500 dollar range are any of them really THAT much better?

Thanks!!! Pics are cool too…..

I've only been around the Mask rimfire can. I'd be confident that the TBAC is neck and neck with the Mask based on my experience with both brands in centerfire mufflers.

Iv got a takedown 22 and a griffin optimus micro. They both sound alright.

Couple pluses for the takedown over a lot of others are numbered baffles and no special tool to lose.

The thunderbeast screams quality as do their centerfire cans.

I don’t shoot any pistol with either but if that were the case I guess weight might matter to me.

I’d definitely buy something that will handle 17hmr. The optimus micro will handle 223 rem. Which is kind of neat. It’s not 7” can quiet but is surprising.

tossup between the mask and the tbac. The Sico Sparrow is a dandy, but pass me the other 2 first....

Got a Banish inbound. Someday.....
I really like my banish but I’m putting together something and don’t want to always swap silencers back and forth. Leaning towards the mask.

I went with the TBAC TD22 and am very happy with it. With sub sonics it is pretty much movie quiet. It’s easy to pull apart and dump the internals in a solvent bath

I have a Silencerco Spectre 22 on a Ruger MKIV 22/45 that is super quiet. I have shot all kinds of ammo through it and its always quiet. I clean it about every 1000 rounds as it gets dirty pretty quick. It is a simple process too.

Just when I think I’ve settled on the mask. I may need to get both a mask and a takedown.

Not to derail to much, but is there a supressor that can handle 22LR/22MAG as well as 223/556? Thanks.

I have the Optimus micro too. It’s pretty quiet but does have high back pressure on an 556 AR. People hate on it bc it’s heavy for a .22 can. But you won’t notice the difference.

I have only been around the two 22 cans that I personally own. I don't think there would be a remarkable difference between the lower/higher end cans if you wanted a rim fire specifically. I have a huntertown b-22 (went of of business I believe) and an aac prodigy. The firing pin striking the case is the loudest part of the gun firing on a bolt gun with subs.

I got both of them for free so I would have a hard time paying multiple hundreds of dollars for a dedicated 22 can at this point.

I have heard Bowers will clean their customers silencers for a nominal fee. I wish YHM did that becsuse rimfire cans get very dirty.

22 cans are not that complicated. My YHM works great, is light and wasn't expensive.
