22 ARC

Thanks, Il be interested to see how accuracy is after it breaks in with factory ammo. I would like to not have to reload for this one if I can help it. It’s a promising start so far
Filing the 223 mags is a great idea! I converted a 308 mag with epoxy and a 3d printer for the follower/ mag spacer in the rear of the mag, but I bet the 223 is cleaner! Going to give it a try!

The 223rem mag feed lips are tapered opening wider as the length goes from base to bullet to fit the taper of 223rem case well. The 22arc has less case taper. So if you open the lips too far up front it will set nose high with the base sunk down. So start only filing the back 3/4 of the lips as the width is much closer together at the back vs the front. Fiddle with it a little at a time until you get the case sitting level in the mag. I filed it once tried it and took it apart once more and tweaked it a little more then put back together. Took maybe 10min altogether.

I was planning on running 308mags for this build but the 223mag works great so far with very minimal filing to the feed lips

You can see here I got to aggressive filing up front first where it didn’t need it so the front of the case is sitting a little high. Probably will tweak it and I would like the case to sit a tiny amount higher so will widen the lips slightly more to but it ran smooth with no issues as is.

I built a 22 ARC on an AR platform (given affordability and length of pull adjustment) for my kids and I'm a bit blown away by the results. Exceeding my expectations by a long shoot and quickly becoming my favorite firearm.. I've now claimed this one and am collecting parts to build a different one for the kids :ROFLMAO:.. For some context, I went with an H2 buffer, Superlative Arms Gas Block and BCG, and a 12.5" Shaw Barrel.

Only about 100 rounds in but this has quickly become arguably my favorite firearm I own.. It's running the 80 ELDX factory ammo at ~2,650 and putting up 10 round groups at under 1 MOA, through a thermal scope nonetheless.. Recoil is near non-existent, it is not "gassy", and it has not had a single failure (though sample size remains too early for a final verdict there). I'm beyond impressed with the cartridge and the results. My only minor gripe is that it is a bit loud at the 12.5" barrel length, even surpressed.
You got that Superlative in bleed off mode or restrictive mode? I have a 6arc I built that's a little gassy with an Aero restrictive adjustable block and I've got a couple Superlative I was thinking of swapping over to it but I'm lazy.

Bleed off

Also I’m realizing I wrote the wrong velocity in my original post. The 2,650 has been with the 75 ELDM Black ammo. I was 2,610 with the 80 ELDX

@ACHILLES

Nice rifle and it definitely looks like the accuracy is there for you.

I do have a question, where is said gun shop with the case BOGO’s for the 22ARC?
Any 75 ELDM Black in the shelves? 😁

Thanks. It’s Ally outdoors in Midland Tx.
They only had 88 & 62s on the sale. I actually wanted to run the 75s but if the 88s are going to shoot well I’m good with running them.
They had the same deal for 6cm,6ARC,22-250,and 6.5grendel with multiple offerings of each. I think yesterday was the last day of the sale but I’m not sure.
