It is an eye piece for sure.

The name 22-300 AYE immediately made me think of the P.O. Ackley's .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer & 17 Flintstone Super Eyebunger. Even if they fell a few 100fps short of the magic 5000fps; the names of the rounds are record setting in my opinion.
