2026 SHOT SHOW releases

With high mounted AR optics may be less of an issue?

The branding is lame, quite tactical timmy. "lets call it deadline and have a skull logo like dead air".

So gay to put that on a can. It’s like the Spikes Tactical logo of two dicks smashing a spider.

Don't worry, I found the answer, and as I assumed the factory loads use a powder not available off the shelf to consumers.
Pretty much all ammo manufacturers are this way. I'm just surprised at the number of people who don't believe that ammo manufacturers have access to things we don't.

But, it has been made clear that current, off the shelf powders will get you to same velocity. It’s nothing proprietary that’s getting them the velocity numbers

haven't seen too much i'm excited about. outside of the potentially copyright "reaper" tactical can, seems like every non-suppressor company has their own can coming soon. lots of updated/new pistols. burris has some minor veracity scope updates. i did see a video of a leupold rep very confidently stating that their new RF binos were the "very best range finding binocular on the market". notes:

Bx6 Range HD
10x42
the best glass in the industry
runs Hornady 4DOF (also best ballistic solver available)
customizable display (temp, pressure, etc.)
6,000 yd max range, 3,000 on trees, 2,500 on deer sized game
pairs with leupold app
also integrates with precision cut archery app (this is actually cool imo)
pairs with onx, apple maps, google maps etc for ranging/saving waypoints (<2 degrees of accuracy)
$4,000 price tag

Impact NBKx - apparently a lighter version of their NBK action. Which is cool because the NBK was supposed to be lighter but its not at all light.

Man idk where your getting your info, but the folks over at Federal have stated that they use proprietary powder. Just like Hornady did with the first batches of 7mm PRC. Its VERY common for ammo manufacturers to use a blend of powders or to make their own specific powder for a cartridge that are NOT available to consumers. Even basic Google searches reveal the same information.
I'll see if I can find it. I believe it was from Federal themselves on the Vortex podcast but I'll have to look/relisten. I understand manufacturers use special blends but I recall them talking about this specifically and they said it wasn't anything special and can easily be duplicated by consumers with commercial offerings once people started reloading.

So far, Sierra's new bullets are about the only thing getting my attention. This year seems like a lot more me-too items, gimmicky stuff, and iterations of varying utility, rather than genuinely new and interesting.

I have a hard time believing the 4k price tag.
Had a opportunity to look through a prototype a few months ago and they were really good, but not 4k good. Running 4 DOF vs AB is a no go for me.

SWS rifles integral suppressed barrel on a henry supreme is cool. I dont know that its 1700 cool when you can get a 4-6 oz suppressor on a normal henry supreme though.

Yea I seen that podcast, Federal said it's proprietary but you can use off the shelf to reload. Trust me I looked hard at 7mm BC for a hot minute now that I'm trying to build a hunting rifle. Just waiting for a barrel and stock at this point

I don't think anyone is arguing that, we are talking factory loads. They aren't using the same powders we have have for their loads. Therefore reloaders may or may not get same/similar results.

agree on the 4DOF. $4K also not something i'd spend on these even if all the "best this, best that" claims turn out to be true. he didn't get into it in the video, but briefly justified the price with it being a premium product, it comes with accessories (didn't mention what they were), and lifetime firmware updates. which going back to the garmin thing, would be nice to have your $4K binos not be obsolete in 2 yrs.

If we're including things we knew about beforehand...yes, the new Sierra TMKs are cool. The new Lyman affordable cans are cool. But nothing that has been revealed *this week* has caught me yet.
