2026 SHOT SHOW releases

Don't worry, I found the answer, and as I assumed the factory loads use a powder not available off the shelf to consumers..
But, it has been made clear that current, off the shelf powders will get you to same velocity. It’s nothing proprietary that’s getting them the velocity numbers

haven't seen too much i'm excited about. outside of the potentially copyright "reaper" tactical can, seems like every non-suppressor company has their own can coming soon. lots of updated/new pistols. burris has some minor veracity scope updates. i did see a video of a leupold rep very confidently stating that their new RF binos were the "very best range finding binocular on the market". notes:

Bx6 Range HD
10x42
the best glass in the industry
runs Hornady 4DOF (also best ballistic solver available)
customizable display (temp, pressure, etc.)
6,000 yd max range, 3,000 on trees, 2,500 on deer sized game
pairs with leupold app
also integrates with precision cut archery app (this is actually cool imo)
pairs with onx, apple maps, google maps etc for ranging/saving waypoints (<2 degrees of accuracy)
$4,000 price tag

Man idk where your getting your info, but the folks over at Federal have stated that they use proprietary powder. Just like Hornady did with the first batches of 7mm PRC. Its VERY common for ammo manufacturers to use a blend of powders or to make their own specific powder for a cartridge that are NOT available to consumers. Even basic Google searches reveal the same information.
I'll see if I can find it. I believe it was from Federal themselves on the Vortex podcast but I'll have to look/relisten. I understand manufacturers use special blends but I recall them talking about this specifically and they said it wasn't anything special and can easily be duplicated by consumers with commercial offerings once people started reloading.

I have a hard time believing the 4k price tag.
Had a opportunity to look through a prototype a few months ago and they were really good, but not 4k good. Running 4 DOF vs AB is a no go for me.

agree on the 4DOF. $4K also not something i'd spend on these even if all the "best this, best that" claims turn out to be true. he didn't get into it in the video, but briefly justified the price with it being a premium product, it comes with accessories (didn't mention what they were), and lifetime firmware updates. which going back to the garmin thing, would be nice to have your $4K binos not be obsolete in 2 yrs.

So far, Sierra's new bullets are about the only thing getting my attention. This year seems like a lot more me-too items, gimmicky stuff, and iterations of varying utility, rather than genuinely new and interesting.
If we're including things we knew about beforehand...yes, the new Sierra TMKs are cool. The new Lyman affordable cans are cool. But nothing that has been revealed *this week* has caught me yet.

There's always hope, that the last package under the tree isn't socks...

Really curious about what company is going to be offering the Rokscope though. Haven't seen anything official yet.

My guess is $4k is MSRP which almost nobody pays. Also, Leupold does have the no-questions-asked warranty on electronics AND glass right? For something as expensive as high-end LRF binos, knowing that you're covered if you drop them is worth something.

If I drop my $2k+ Sig 10k's on a rock I'm SOL. I don't care what the underlying algorithm is as long as I get accurate and snappy solutions out to 1k-ish. I don't think that's challenging for any of the solvers out nowadays...

Change of design? Different footprint? Tikka footprint is completely different from 700 so they have to have a separate mold anyway. Why not start with a standard Tikka mag mold. Then you likely open it up to a larger market. Only have to have one mold since the tika footprint uses both short and long mags, then you could add the aics mold later if people are requesting it. The only reason I can see for doing aics out the gate is because they've determined their primary market prefers aics with Tika and or doing an aics mold is easier than figuring out the Tikka mag mold.

When I have looked at aics mags for Tika stocks, they cost just as much as Tikka factory mags, and they are nearly always heavier and they always function without fiddling, with the exception of the 2235 round mag. As a mountain hunter concerned with weight, weight and function, I would go with the Tikka factory mags. No reason to add weight to an ultralight stock unless necessary
Its a chassis not a stock theres no mould for the action just the forend and the side plates which are cut out of flat carbon. The foreend could easily remain the same.

An aics magazine is close in width to an action so the walls are naturally thin a Tikka mag is single stack and skinny. So you have to figure how to remove all that extra material also. Without having the mag float in space. It also requires a new mag match design.

It could be done sure but theres a reason most other chassis options run aics for tikkas. You can get 3 round flush aics polymer mags that weigh pretty much the same as Tikka except Id would hazard they last way longer. In NZ atleast a aics mag costs 60% what a new Tikka mag costs.

The footprint of the action is different yes but in a chassis this is less of an issue to fix as the actions are still similar widths.

Any way its not my chassis. If you want it except for the magazine tell him maybe hes wrong and it should use standard Tikka mags. If he gets enough feedback hes open to changing things.
