2026: New Year - New Goals

Trying to figure out which one exactly with a couple of lotteries happening still. Planning on either Fat Dog 120 in BC or Wyoming Range as of now.
Fat Dog sounds killer. Maybe some day for me.

2025 was able to hit some major goals for my 40th-swim Alcatraz, pay off all vehicles, kill a nice bull-capping it off in 4 weeks running Bandera 50k.

2026 my goal is to 100% support my wife who signed up for her first full Ironman in September.
Full IM is no joke! Very best of luck to her!!!

How was the Alcatraz swim? My dream goal is to distance swim event of some sort, but I'm like baby giraffe in the water......

Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Chop and swells were brutal. I started rescue swimming and diving for work 2 years ago and that was the first time I had ever done lap swimming. Wouldn’t trade the experience for anything but wouldn’t do it again today for $10k.

That's quite an accomplishment and that time is excellent for those conditions! Good luck on your goals for 2026!

Do a muscle up before I turn 60. 11 months to go...

Win (my age group) the local Harvest Festival 5k.

Do a few endurance rides on my horse.

-be consistent (never been an issue but always a goal.

-get leaner (always a goal)

-shoot more

-catch some new fish

-mountain goat

-bull moose

-blacktail deer

This past year was one of major inconsistency. Was working all over the clock and was in full time school but finally finished. I found it really difficult to maintain my diet, fitness, and doing the things I love.

The theme of next year for me is consistency. Getting my lifting and cardio sessions planned out in advance and going into each day with a solid plan, not a haphazard idea of what I want to do. I’m prioritizing something every day to advance my physical and mental health.

Got an Arizona OTC archery tag and will be hunting blacktail and pigs in CA too.

Tons to look forward to.

Lose weight, gain overall body and core strength. Training to ride the Belgian Waffle Ride, Cedar City Utah in June. Anything after that is hill hikes for hunting season.
