No it’s not. People need to read the fkn game regs. So many guys want to make decisions based on an app, YouTube video, social media, forums, etc., all sources that do not create or enforce the rules.

Didn’t see that response coming. My reasoning is the application is for a 2026 hunt and the regulations are not created.

My apologies, my response wasn’t directed at you personally.

As a general rule, if the current year’s regulations have not yet been released, the prior year’s version should be referenced.

Yes they are, Idaho sets seasons on a 2 year cycle and they just had the season setting last year, pick up the 2025 regs and outside of some emergency change everything will be the same in 2026

If you choose to come to Missouri and hunt, I'll be happy for you if you shoot whatever buck makes you happy.

I’ve been tempted to come back there to Missouri and hunt whitetails, seems like you guys have some pretty liberal seasons with lots of doe harvest and I can get my kids some tags for practically nothing. Maybe don’t shoot the first buck you get a chance at though, because odds are it will be a 1 1/2 year old forky and it will be on day 1. There is the potential for some real good bucks over in that country and you should be able to kill that same forky on the last day of your hunt. I definitely have nothing against filling a freezer though so do what makes you happy

Thanks Andrew! I hope for a big buck, but going into new country solo I'm not expecting to find the big bucks easily, especially in early/mid October.
This is my third Idaho deer tag. The first time was 7 days in southern Idaho without finding a nice buck, and the second tag was an abbreviated 1.5 day hunt due to some significant vehicle problems. I'd love to get a buck this time.
