2025 Fitness Goals Accountability Thread

What is everyone's 2025 fitness goal(s). Let's use this thread for tracking/accountability/motivation.

2024 for me was a bust fitness wise. For 2025, my 3 main goals are:
  • Get to <200lb body weight
  • Log 1000 miles between running/hiking/mountain biking
  • Complete at least one 10k distance run/hike per month.

2000 k on the rowing machine, interchangeable with running at a 2:1 ratio.
Min 50 Vo2max sessions on the rower, no more than 2 any given week though ideally roughly a 1x per week thing.
15 strict pull ups with 3 second dead hang rest between each rep.
Have been thinking about lifting goals but not really sure what I want there.

I like these threads, took a few years off the threads but will play this year.

1,300 human-powered miles (mostly running and hiking)

130,000 vertical gain

12 week gym-bases muscular endurance block starting Jan 1

8 week weighted carry ME block leading up to hunt

Maintain ability to do 3 sets of 15 strict pullups

1.5x body weight squat and deadlift

At least one long mountain run (not sure which one to do - looking at a few, but might end up doing a diy with my brother that’s not quite as long as others).

I lost 43 lbs from January 2024 to October. Did a dirty bulk until now but I’m going to start cutting shortly and I would love to be able to see some abs the year I turn 40. I know what to do I just need to be disciplined.

1000lb club would be nice too, I’m around 900 now.

1. A healthier muscle to body fat ratio, don’t care about the actual weight.
2. Didn’t officially log miles last year but it was a personal best so let’s shoot for 500-700. Also want to do some longer day trips for endurance.
3. More consistent with the home exercise routine.

I was thinking of backing off my goals of hiking the number of miles, same as the year. I just turned 67 and instead of the goal getting easier as I age, it gets harder. But someone mentioned why do that?—basically giving in to getting older, so I'm officially going to shoot for 2025 miles this coming year :) Not sure if I'll make it, but will give it a good go again.

I strength train twice a week and plan to keep that up as well.

I also got onto a solid plan for weighted rucking this year (just a little prior to hunting season) and will be be replicating that plan this year.

Of course all premised on God willing!

Goals are important and my goal is to get back to being able to hike with a full pack. The last 2 years have been far too sedentary, working through hunting season. That won't happen for a third year.

Looking forward to following along with everybody.

Goals:
1– live a healthier lifestyle
2– workout 5 days per week

Lost 15-20 pounds going into my October elk hunt. Holiday and work have been rough since then and I put on 10 pounds. Sitting right at 200 pounds, looking to tighten up my diet and get back to working out on a consistent basis.

I’ll play. I don’t know where my goals will be honestly other than losing some weight. Been through some ups and downs with injuries over the last few years so my track record coming into this year is sporadic.

Here is what I can think of so far:
1. EAT BETTER.
2. Get three additional workouts in per week (outside of combat sports training x2 a week)
3. Drop some weight/reduce bmi

Goals -

Get better at pull-ups(I can barely do 1 ATM).
Add in more stretching in the morning and evening.
Eat better, supplement better, drink less.
Get better with lifting weights.

I'll play. This year I want to break under 200lbs and be more flexible.

I've had good intentions every year of my life but did nothing meaningful until starting carnivore diet July 2024. 1/1/24 I was 295lbs, now on 1/1/25 I'm 244lbs.

Starting today I'm going to add in a basic dumbell routine, basic stretching, and I'm going to hit 1,000 miles on my bike this year (did 1,240 in 2021 so I know it's possible). Continuing carnivore, may start tightening up portions as well.

64 and have exercised for over 45 years. I have a pretty good routine and do it 6 days a week. I’ve changed a few things but due the same cardio every year. Living at over 6k in altitude is a plus. Good luck everyone and please don’t quit you’ll enjoy your hunts more imo.

I'm getting more involved with coaching my son's mountain bike team this year so my goals are shifting. Last year was a good fitness year for me overall keeping relatively injury free. I ended up with 920 miles on the mountain bike, 502 trail running and 333 hiking/rucking.

I want to log 2,000 miles on my mountain bike and 2,500 all purpose miles including trail running and hiking/rucking in with the biking. That's an extra 750 all purpose miles more than this year and more than double the miles on a bike. It should push me to be consistent.

I also want to climb 300,000 feet of elevation gain over those miles (up from the 275,000 I did in 2024). With the increase in biking miles over last year I expect this might be low and need a mid year adjustment but we'll see.

I also have an Alaska Moose hunt scheduled for September so I need to stay up on the rucking. I don't expect much elevation on that hunt but rucking in the mountains should get me ready to haul some moose quarters this fall. I'll really be cutting my trail running miles down this year but I think I need to based on what I'm trying to prepare for.

I'll keep on with my body weight calisthenics as well (pushups, pullups, planks, air squats and lunges) 2-3 times per week to maintain a basic level of strength.

I also decided to track how many calories I burn exercising this year. I think I want to set a goal based on calories burned next year. I'm looking forward to another great year!
